Inkshed 30’s sessions will take place at St. Paul’s University College on campus at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario. See the campus map by right clicking http://uwaterloo.ca/map/pdf/map_colour.pdf.
Online registration and fees payment for Inkshed 2014 are now available at https://media6.magma.ca/www.leverus.com/casdw/. This is the secure online membership payment site for CASDW, whose Executive has kindly agreed to allow Inkshed’s conference registration to be done through their site, sparing CASLL the expense of setting up a separate site. You can also pay CASLL membership fees through this site.
To register, click on “Inkshed conference registration” as your Type of Application at the top of the form, fill in the various information fields, and then select either “$100 Inkshed conference regular” or “$50 Inkshed conference student/retired/unsalaried” for your Membership Type. (These are updated fees for the ONE-DAY program. Those who paid higher fees originally will receive a refund upon registration on site.) Payment can be made using American Express, DiscoverCard, MasterCard, or Visa. The system will generate a receipt for you as well as emailing your registration details to the organizing committee.
St. Paul’s University College is the most convenient place to stay because all our conference sessions will take place there. You have a choice of rooms, and there’s even a hotel on site if you’d rather not stay in residence rooms. All you need do is to click on https://uwaterloo.ca/stpauls/guest-rooms-conferences to register. Other short-term accommodation is available on campus at several Waterloo residences, at prices ranging from $52 for a single room with Internet access and shared lounge. For more information and bookings, go to https://uwaterloo.ca/conference-centre/accommodation.
WELCOME, REFRESHMENTS, CONFERENCE DINNER
On Tuesday evening (May 27) from 6 to 9 PM we’ll be having a meet and greet event at the Grad House on the Waterloo campus. There will be finger food and nibbles available along with a cash bar. And at 7:30 p.m. we’ll resurrect an Inkshed tradition fondly referred to as Talent Night, but in the spirit of Inkshed 30, we’ll call it Open Mike: Taking Real Risks!
On the morning of May 28, we will supply coffee and juice and breakfast goodies, including yogurt and fruit. If you stay in St. Paul’s residence you’ll have the option of having a full breakfast as part of your residence package. Morning and afternoon coffee/tea and healthy snacks will also be supplied, with a lunch provided mid-day.
All in all, Inkshed 30 promises an enriching, collaborative experience. We look forward to welcoming you here!
